Doraemon currently has 37 films and counting. And in 2018, it’s about to get it’s 38th, as Doraemon, Nobita, and the game become pirates. Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic pirate novel, Treasure Island, inmspires the film, which also has the title, Doraemon the Movie: Nobita’s Treasure Island. Now, the staff have revealed a brand new trailer for the film, which teases adventure on the high seas.

The new trailer also features the film’s insert song “Koko ni Inai Anata e” by Gen Hoshino. It also teases Yo Oizumi’s character in the film, Captain Silver. Of course, Treasure Island’s pirate antagonist, Long John Silver, inspires the character. He will hold the key to finding Treasure Island in the film.

The anime film opens in Japan on 4rd March, with the TV anime’s episode director, Kazuaki Imai, making his film directorial debut. your name.’s Genki Kawamura will be writing the Treasure Island-inspired script.
