Star Wars: The Last Jedi is now out in cinemas, and despite the criticisms, many fans loved it. And as everyone knows by now, Star Wars is pretty big, especially in Japan. And to celebrate the new film, figure enthusiast, @juridget, did a special figure shoot featuring Kylo Ren and Rey. He featured the two in a sushi bar of all places, and it really went viral.
But why did Rey attack Kylo with The Force? That’s because you always wash your hands before eating sushi. It’s common courtesy, but Kylo was about to press the wrong button.
Given that he’s from a galaxy far far away, he may not know much about Japanese customs. That black button Kylo was about to press actually has hot water, and would burn the sith-wannabe. Well, I guess he wouldn’t mind that given how much he wants to be like Grandpa Vader, right?
But what did Kylo do after Rey reprimanded him with the force? Of course, Japanese social media weighed in:
“He’s going to snap and flail his lightsaber around.”
“He’s going to whip out his light saber and take his anger out on the sushi counter.”
“So she was the one who sent him to the dark side.”
“I’m not sure who’s more evil.”
“Based on a true story.”

In the Last Jedi, Kylo and Rey had plenty of intimate moments, which led fans to ship them with each other. Needless to say, Juridget’s new figure photography post just fanned the flames of the Reylo shippers even more.
