It’s finally 2018, which also means that Hiroyuki Takei’s Shaman King manga is celebrating its 20th anniversary! And now, Kodansha has launched a brand new website for the occasion, and it has a huge announcement. According to the website, Hiroyuki Takei is returning to the series to do a brand new arc for the manga.

They also revealed that Takei will be launching the new arc in Kodansha’s Shonen Edge Magazine. While they didn’t reveal an exact date for the new arc’s debut, they did reveal it will return sometime in spring. As for the 20th anniversary celebrations, the website, as well as the magazine, will be revealing more announcements in the future.

Takei launched the series back in 1998 for Weekly Shonen Jump magazine, and became a hit. It also received a TV anime adaptation, as well as several spin-offs. It abruptly ended in 2004, but also revealed a “true ending” in 2009 in the manga’s reprinting. It then received several short stories with Shaman King 0, as well as a sequel manga with Shaman King Flowers.

So, with Shaman King’s 20th anniversary, who’s your favorite character? And what’s your favorite Shaman King moment? But one thing’s for sure, a lot of fans are staying hyped for this new arc!
