The website of “Nidoume no Jinsei wo Isekai de” has announced that the show has been officially canceled. This announcement was made shortly after furor over original author MINE’s racist Tweets caused the seiyuu cast of the upcoming show to leave the production simultaneously.
“Nidoume no Jinsei wo Isekai de” Anime Cancellation Announcement
Since announcing the anime adaptation, we have taken this series of cases very seriously,
and are informing everyone that the production and broadcast of the anime has been canceled.
To everyone, especialy those involved in the production of this title,
we deeply apologize for the trouble and worry we have caused.
— Nidoume no Jinsei wo Isekai de Production Committee
Although the formal announcement refrained from citing any specific reasons for the cancelation, most people following the story infered that MINE’s controversial Tweets, as well as some of the contentious content in the show’s plot, ultimately ended the production and broadcast of the anime series.
In addition, the publisher of the light novel series — Hobby Japan, has announced that it will halt the distribution of all 18 volumes of the light novel published so far. MINE originally mentioned in his apology Tweet that he will speak with his publisher about revising some of the content in the print version of the web novel. However, this appears to have become a moot point.
