Fairy Tail fans rejoice, because we finally have a release date for the manga’s sequel! Weekly Shonen Magazine has now revealed that Kodansha’s Magazine Pocket manga app will be launching the sequel manga on 25th July. The magazine itself will also be physically publishing the first volume on that same date. However, mangaka Hiro Mashima isn’t the one working on the sequel, but Dr. Prisoner mangaka, Atsuo Ueda.

Mashima has now launched his new manga, Eden’s Zero, internationally, but he’ll still be helping out in the sequel. In fact, he will be providing the original storyboards for the manga while Ueda is doing the drawing.

As for those who are wondering how Ueda will do, the mangaka released this artwork of Natsu and Lucy:

Well, he’s certainly fired up, but he certainly has some huge shoes to fill, that’s for sure…
