Tsurune” – the beautiful and melodic ‘whooshing’ sound made from an archer’s well-strung bow in the split-second contact as the arrow shaft leaves the bow, flying skywards to find home in its intended target. The beautiful sound that connects to the archer’s heartstrings yet may appear differently for each and every individual, even if they may use similar equipment. The sound may signify new beginnings, challenges and comradeship; or it may mean parting ways.

This is the premise of emotions that the Kyoto Animation production team hopes to bring across in their newest anime project of the same titular name: “Tsurune – Kazemai High School Japanese Archery Club”. As previously reported, the story follows main character Minato Narumiya and his fellow club-mates in their high school’s competitive Japanese Archery Club as they train and fight hand-in-hand to win the prefecture archery tournament.

Earlier this week, KyoAni unveiled the series’ first teaser PV via its official Twitter account, as well as revealed the voice cast for the main characters.

The characters and cast introduced in the PV are the core members of the Kazemai High School Japanese Archery Club:
