Production I.G has announced a new animation project set in the infamous Kabukicho District of Shinjuku Ward in Tokyo. Althought the official title has yet to be revealed, the official website’s URL pipecat-kabukicho.jp hints at the possible series name; however, key staff members such as Director Ai Yoshimura, Screenwriter Taku Kishimoto, and Character Designer Toshiyuki Yahagi have already been named.
In other news, Production I.G is also hosting the first ever “Indie Animation Award“. The total prize money will be JPY 1M, and the Grand Prize winner will also get to participate in a mentoring session with Production I.G President and CEO Mitsuhisa Ishikawa and Director Takayuki Goto.
