It looks like Violet Evergarden the Movie can’t take a break. It was supposed to originally premiere last January, but Kyoto Animation understandable postponed the film due to last year’s arson attack. And now, the Coronavirus happened and the studio has decided to postpone the film again.

The film was supposed to have its new premiere date on 24th April. But with the pandemic shutting down theatres all over Japan, that is not gonna happen. Unfortunately, the Kyoto Animation staff have not yet revealed when this new release date will be. According to the official website, the film will be centering more on Violet’s relationship with Gilbert, and how she refuses to believe that he is dead. And this happens as Violet gets a job from a boy named Julis. Taichi Ishidate will be returning to direct the film over at Kyoto Animation. This will be the second Violet Evergarden film, following Violet Evergarden – Eternity and the Auto Memory Doll – spin-off. The spin-off anime film will be premiering on Netflix this 2nd April.
