BABYMETAL is currently touring the US and they have been making a name for themselves in the American Heavy metal scene. The Japanese idol trio may have gotten a few haters, but Heavy Metal legends like Rob Zombie himself have defended them. This time, the trio appeared at the Journeys Alternative Press Music Awards in Columbus, Ohio with an unlikely partner – Legendary Judas Priest frontman, Rob Halford.

The trio started off by performing their hit single, “KARATE,” before introducing the Heavy Metal Icon, who rocked out with the trio to a medley of Judas Priest hits, starting with “Painkiller.” The trio then showed that they really belonged on that stage with the music legend when Yui-metal and Moa-metal broke out the guitars and played “Breaking the Law” while Sui-metal was introducing them.

After the performance, Halford said that “That was really intense: Babymetal give a thousand percent just like Priest,” and added that “They’re leading the charge into the new frontier of heavy metal.” For their part, Su-metal said that “It was really amazing and fantastic,” and added that “A collaboration with Rob Halford, the ‘Metal God,’ has always been my dream. I never imagined that dream would come true!”

Well, we have to say that the Metal God was truly impressed with the Fox God’s trio. The four then posed together for a special photo op. Haters gonna hate!

With legends like Judas Priest and Rob Zombie saying that BABYMETAL is metal enough to hang with them is surely a great sign, as the trio’s US tour keeps on recruiting more fans onto their side and silencing the doubters.
