1) Tiger & Bunny

OK, when we said a little bit shocking, we’ll admit we lied a bit there. We meant really shocking! The Tiger & Bunny hero series gave a 1-2 punch, taking in the #1 and #2 spots for its TV anime and second film respectively.

The results surprised many fans, as it didn’t even contain a few notable classics. This “Best 100 Anime” list not only excluded a few classic anime films like Spirited Away, My Neighbor Totoro, and The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, but also classic TV anime like Doraemon, Cyborg 009, and Devilman. But then again, NHK conducted this via fan voting, so the result was more or less like a popularity contest.
