It may not have hit Japan yet, but it seems that the people in Switzerland really liked Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure. So much so that the film actually won the RTS Audience Award at the Neuchâtel International Fantastic Film Festival (NIFFF). The festival hosted the live-action film’s world premiere last 2nd July. Director Takashi Miike and lead actor Kento Yamazaki both attended the film’s premiere screening in Switzerland.

Too bad Yamazaki didn’t keep his Jousuke hair for the premiere because it would have been faaaabulous.

The festival committee awarded Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable the Audience Award for International and Asian competitors. This means that the people who watched films in the festival chose Joho to win out of the other international films.

As for the film itself, it premieres in Japan on August 4, 2017, before hitting parts of Southeast Asia. Kento Yamazaki takes up the mantle of  Jousuke Higashikata for the film. Meanwhile, the film’s story will follow Part IV of the manga, Diamond is Unbreakable. It follows the adventures of Josuke Higashikata and his friends, along with Jotaro of course. The website previously revealed Yamazaki as Josuke, as well as other character
