Which is the most popular game on Cybird’s roster?

“Ikémen Sengoku: Romances Across Time” is the worldwide most popular Ikémen Series title. The characters are voiced by famous voice actors such as Tomokazu Sugita, Kazuki Kato, Kensho Ono, Kohsuke Toriumi and more. This title is adapted to TV anime, comic, stage play and PS Vita game, as well as many online and offline collaborations with other IP.

How is the company taking on the mobile game industry?

CYBIRD is one of the Otome Game makers from Japan, and Ikémen Series is the largest mobile Otome Game brand. We have total of more than 19M (19000000) downloads (adding both JP and EN versions). Ikémen Series is having its 5th anniversary this year (EN version is 3rd anniversary), and we are planning to expand the brand worldwide more.

What is Cybird’s take on the overseas market?

For overseas market, our first EN title “Midnight Cinderella: Ikémen Royal Romances” was released in December 2014. When we released this game, we weren’t sure if English version could run as business or not. We actually did have lots of tries and errors (still do), but due to the success of this title, we started releasing more EN versions.

We’ve released “Destined to Love: Ikémen Samurai Romances” in October 2015, and “Ikémen Sengoku: Romances Across Time” in June 2016. In 2017, we are planning to release at least one EN title. Also, we started to attend overseas offline event since 2016. Anime Expo in 2016 and 2017, AFASG 2017 is our 3rd overseas offline event and the first SEA region event.

Also, we are finally starting online merchandise from animate online (animate.shop/collections/ikemenn) soon. The overseas Otome market is still small, but we will keep releasing high quality Otome Games, and try to attend offline events and sell merchandise online to reflect the requests from the fans.

How’s the gameplay like for your flagship game?

The gameplay is pretty simple, you choose your favorite guy and read through his story. A lot of the fans tend to read more than 1 character’s story, because they enjoy seeing characters from many different perspectives. You get 5 chapter tickets for free every day, but you can also buy them to read faster. Also, we have in-game events such as gacha, story sale and story event. Story event is the type of event that you can read the story for free, but there are lots of missions to clear to get the bonus items and attire.
