Brace yourselves Rurouni Kenshin fans, because it looks like 2020 will be a big year for you guys. This is because Warner Bros. Japan has announced not one, but two new Rurouni Kenshin films! And yes, Takeru Satoh is back as Kenshin Himura for both films, which will be the “Final” ones for the franchise.

Both films will debut sometime in summer 2020. The first film is titled Juuji Kizu no Naze, and will cover the story behind Kenshin’s X-shaped scar. Meanwhile, the second film’s title is Saikyou no Teki.

So far, Warner Bros. has not yet revealed any further details. However, they did confirm that aside from Satoh, director Keishi Ootomo is also returning to helm the two new films. The director previously directed the first three movies for the franchise.
