Digimon Adventure isn’t just getting an anime film to serve as Taichi and Agumon’s final adventure, but as Toei revealed, its getting a reboot as well. This new reboot will have a new story and will take place in 2020. In fact, the studio even revealed a teaser PV, as well as a key visual:

This will be a reboot which will follow the DigiDestined in a new adventure. In the story, Taichi gets transported into the digital world, along with the other DigiDestined, when a large-scale network malfunction occurs, crippling Tokyo’s railway system.

Masato Mitsuka, who served as an episode director for Digimon Fusion, will now be serving as series director over at Toei Animation. Meanwhile, original character designer Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru is also coming back as well. Its official title is Digimon Adventure:, and it will premiere in April this year.

But that’s not the only new big Digimon news. This is because the franchise is also getting its own card game!

Not much is still known about this card game, but it will launch in April 2020… which is the same month as the launch of the new Digimon Adventure: anime.
