Via Comic Natalie: a new promotional video for ““Evangelion: 3.0+1.0” has dropped, accompanying the latest news that the movie has already grossed JPY 3.3B in just under eight days (with JPY 800M of that on the first day alone) since it premiered on 8th March 2021.

Over 2.19 million fans have attended screenings all over Japan, putting the movie on track to becoming one of the biggest-selling animated films and series of all time. Whether it will surpass the current ticket sales record holder “Kimetsu no Yaiba: The Movie Mugen Train” remains to be seen.

“Evangelion: 3.0+1.0” is the fourth and final film in the Rebuild of Evangelion tetralogy, based on the 1995 anime series “Neon Genesis Evangelion”; the film was originally slated for release in 2015. It was announced that the film will finally hit cinemas 27th June 2020, then postponed to 23rd January 2021, and again to 8th March 2021 due to the spike in COVID-19 cases in Japan.
